From thecodedduo MINISTER BLOWS N2 BILLION ON CHARTERED JETS Well no one should ever say “Nigeria has got no money” because all I would just do is to shake my head. It seems like the country’s money is now channeled to the oil company owners and definitely into politics. It so unbelievable how some people in power (politicians) single handedly spend the country’s hard earned money on luxurious things. No wonder, a minister may have been spending so much time in the air that she has racked up N2 billion in two years. It’s so sad that the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. This is why the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is being urged to probe how she blew the cash on chartered jets. Though, the minister was reported to the chairman of EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, by whistle blowing group, Crusaders for Good Governance (CGG), on August 13. In the petition signed by its representative, Okechukwu Obiorah Nnamdi, the group said its alarm against the minister, who could not be reached for comments last night, was borne out of investigation. The group said its allegations against the minister could be verified through the records of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). The Minister who has taken it upon herself, to travel by private jet to all assignments even when other cabinet of Ministers travel by commercial or presidential planes. For instance, when the president visited China, she was on the trip but travelled in a private jet at the cost of $300,000. It was the same even when the President took a trip to South Africa; she also travelled in a private jet at the cost of $300,000. During Easter break, she flew a private jet to Dubai with members of her family at the cost of $300,000. Well did I just hear you say woowwwww?? Do you know a Parastatal maintains a private jet, Challenger 850 Visa jet, at $500,000 monthly for the Minister? It’s so crazy how the so called Minister has spent well over N2 billion naira over the last 19 months; when this money could be used to improve the educational sector *sad*. At least, it would have gone a long way in putting an end to this lingering forever Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU). You can imagine how some Ministers would just bleed the country’s financial purse and feeling large because they can loot our money??? Well, you may say there is time for everything, but it rather unfair when you see an average Nigerian hustling on the street just to make ends meet with no job!!! God dey……I just dey talk my own for the masses!! Drop your comments…. Thanks!!
